Sasha Velour: Travesty
Travesty traces the secret queer history of a single spot throughout time — A witch burns in a field; a clown builds a theater; an underground gay bar rises up against the police. As Velour embodies different characters through a series of jaw-dropping lip-syncs, she invites you to take part in the cycle of existence, resistance and camp that IS drag. Part performance art, part history, part call to action, Travesty will have you screaming at the top of your lungs, dancing in the aisles and inspired to “change the muthaf*ckin’ world!”

Queer AF Ethereal Beings, presented by Saint-Gobain, invites you to explore a world beyond boundaries and binaries on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at Mechanics Hall in Downtown Worcester.
Trans and Queer people are often treated as intangible — myths, projections, misunderstandings — but our lives are real and revolutionary acts. Through light, reflection, color, and form, Queer AF Ethereal Beings will immerse you in a world free of the fixed perceptions many try to impose.
Raja, winner of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 3 and queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses, will be headlining. Drag artists and other performers will light up the stage, and looks from an array of queer designers will shine. Queer AF is known for its community-grown runway, which recruits local models and uplifts people of all sizes, genders, identities, and abilities — this fashion show sends the message that all bodies are beautiful and worthy. Most importantly, the night is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Love Your Labels, which supports queer and trans young people as they explore personal expression, gender, and sexuality through fashion design.
How do you embody light? Bring your most mystical, otherworldly, dazzling self to Queer AF Ethereal Beings on Friday, Sept. 5, at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. Buy tickets now at queeraf.org. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
